Happy Lunar New Year!

We are happy to announce that we had the 9th Annual Sedona Lunar New Year Festival last week. The event was successful with more than 300 guests from our local community and beyond. We especially thank the local business owners who sponsored our event by donating their gifts. This event was an opportunity to enrich the cultural diversity and expand friendship in our community. We would like to share the photos of the meaningful moments of the event.

All proceeds of the event are forwarded to ECO (Earth Citizens Organization) to support its mission for developing community culture for sustainability. In support of ECO’s action, we also invite all of you to Farm-X and Farm-to-Table on Feb 17th at ECO Farm located in 3080 Hwy 89A, Cottonwood from 10 am till 2 pm. We will continue our effort to promote the spirit of love and care for the community.

Bring all your family and friends to enjoy asian cuisine, Korean songs, cultural performances, fortune telling, raffles, and games. It’s going to be a time to remember, you won’t want to miss it.

Celebration of National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day

Sedona Korean American Association(SKAA) visited Prescott Korean War Veterans Association on 7/20/2017.

Dami Kim expressed her deep gratitude to all Korean War veterans and wished them for healthy and happy lives.

Board members of SKAA also sponsored 5 Belly Button Healing Kits, books about self-healing, and very delicious & juicy organic peaches grown from Sedona Mago Retreat.

Happy Memorial Day!

Dami Kim, President of Sedona Korean-American Association was honored to be at the Memorial Day Ceremony at the Sedona Military Park today. Thanks to Judith who organized and all veterans in Sedona and Verde Valley area who contributed for this meaningful time for all of us.
Without you-veterans, we wouldn’t be here to celebrate our freedom and peace. Our deepest gratitude to all of you.

2017 Sedona Lunar New Year Festival

Get in gear for the Lunar New Year! 2017 is the Year of the Rooster. Celebrate with the Sedona Korean American Association at the 7th Annual Sedona Lunar New Year Festival on Sunday Feb. 5th, from 11am-3pm at Sedona Meditation Center, 340 Jordan Rd.
This is a free of charge kid friendly event. Make sure to explore all the festivities, including Asian Cuisine, Film, Cultural Performances, Fortune Telling, Raffles and Games.

Leadership Camp for Young Korean Americans (11/11~11/13/2016)

 

The founding sprit of Korea is the source of strength for developing a new leadership required for the peaceful and sustainable world.

Sedona Korean American Association (SKAA) will work with Earth Citizens Organization (ECO) and Kookhakwon to offer leadership camp for young Korean Americans. ECO is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, which promotes mindful living, natural health, and sustainability. Kookhakwon is a private research institute dedicated to the study of founding philosophy of Korea.

The camp offered by SKAA will include leadership development, Korean spirit and history, ECO living and sustainability, and Korean traditional mind-body trainings.

Through this 3-day weekend leadership camp, young Korean-Americans will:

  • Develop leadership as global leaders for the future world
  • Attain knowledge and skills for sustainability in their personal lives and community,
  • Acquire deeper understanding of the Korean culture and tradition and enhance confidence and self-esteem as Korean-Americans.

 

Program Dates

Nov 11~13, 2016 (2 nights 3 days)

March, 2016 (date will be announced later)

 

Fee: $400 including accommodation at ECO Learning Center (Cottonwood,AZ)
